Opens December 14 in Los Angeles at Laemmle's Town Center 5

Interviews available upon request
First Run Features is pleased to announce the Los Angeles theatrical premiere of The Second Time Around, a new film directed by Leon Marr. The film will open at Laemmle's Town Center 5 on December 14, 2018.

Katherine Mitchell (Linda Thorson), a widowed yet vibrant senior, wasn’t looking
for love a second time – not at her age, and certainly not with grumpy Isaac Shapiro (Stuart Margolin).

Despite the nosey bunch of seniors in the residence where Katherine convalesces after breaking her hip, she and Isaac warm to each other over their shared love of music. Against unforeseen obstacles, their love blooms and together they set out to fulfill Katherine’s lifelong dream of going to the opera in Milan.

"Take heart, Golden Agers, there is a little gem
of a film that should resonate with you as well
as all of those in search of a tender though
quirky love story."

Audience Testimonials

‘Move over Marigold Hotel …Loved Second Time Around. So authentic and
the actors outstanding. Margolin and Thorson were ideal casting. I will most certainly recommend it to my friends as well as see it again.’

'I loved it and will tell my friends to see it.  A realistic story about senior love,
and what a pleasure to see a happy ending!  Please do tell me when and where
it will be opening.  I will recommend it to my retired teachers movie club.'

'After viewing your film at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival last evening, I would
like to wholeheartedly support the wider commercial release of your film in
movie theaters as soon as possible!  I feel the stories of older people are
underrepresented today. There are so many stories to tell!  And there is a

real opportunity to humanize older people, who are all-to-often dismissed.
Thanks for your film -- we loved it!'

'I saw this movie yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is, in my opinion, a ‘ two thumbs up’  movie and hope it receives the credit it deserves when it plays in other theatres.
The acting was fabulous and brought tears to my eyes. Linda Thorson and Stuart Margolin were the stars and did a magnificent job.’

'Bravo! Congratulations on making a beautiful and heart-warming film,
filled with love, humour and the joys of rekindled passion.'

‘Loved it, so pleased that I was invited. Great storyline, wonderful acting, by all.
A little scary to watch at my age, as to what your children might decide to do with you.
I have a friend & this is her story...really!!!! Hope it opens in the theaters soon...especially so that my friend can see it. All the best for great success!’

'Fabulous movie! I had the pleasure of seeing ‘Second Time Around’ yesterday, and I enjoyed it immensely.  Beautiful story, well presented, great acting and wonderful music!  I recommend it highly, and congratulate the cast and crew
who made it happen! Bravo!’

'The movie was amazing, we really enjoyed it. It was very well done, great
acting as well. We were all very impressed and will be recommending it.'

‘Great directing, acting, music...all did fabulous work!
As a 60 year "young" woman, it was refreshing to see characters who could be
me and the ever increasing older people of this world..  I laughed. I cried. I want
to see more movies like this please. Thank you all for some great entertainment.

'I loved it... .I want a copy... I want the soundtrack...I cried at least 3 times..
laughed in all the right places lol...Wonderful... cannot wait to see it again.'
